​What is Reiki?
​

Reiki is an ancient healing art, rediscovered at the beginning of the 20th century in Japan, by Master Mikao Usui. 
Eastern natural medicine has worked with this energy for thousands of years before, recognising its flow through all living things. Reiki practitioners don’t heal, when they are initiated to Reiki correctly, they become channels for this Universal Life Healing Energy, which flows into their head and out through their hands (see Reiki Initiations).
Anyone can be initiated in Reiki, including children from 7 years old (see Reiki Initiations for Children) and pregnant women (see Reiki & Pregnancy).

Who can receive Reiki treatments?


​Anyone can receive Reiki treatments. Reiki is easily adapted to most medical conditions and is safe for children, pregnant women, surgical patients, the frail and the elderly. It works effectively alongside conventional healthcare and natural remedies.
​The healing energy is effortlessly transmitted through the Reiki hands of the practitioner into any organism or living being, including people, plants and animals.
The strength of the Energy depends on the need of the receiver.
​Reiki goes through any kind of materials including clothing, bandages, plaster or metal.

Reiki is not bounded to any religion nor in conflict with any religion, meditation technique  or initiation. In fact, all these practices are only enriched by it.

Reiki is a non-invasive complementary therapy that supports conventional medicine or can be used alone but it is not a replacement for traditional medication or treatments. ​

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING A REIKI TREATMENT

  • During a Reiki treatment, you will be laying fully clothed on your back and on your belly over a healing table or bed (when there is no other way for you)
  • The full Reiki treatment takes 1 hr.
  • The Reiki Practitioner will place their Reiki hands gently on your body and keep them still for few minutes before moving them to the next position. Generally covering your head, your torso, knees and feet. These hand positions are always respectful towards the Client​

​
 The Reiki practitioner is only a channel of the Universal Life Healing Energy that flows into their crown and out through their hands.

During the Reiki treatment, the practitioner holds the intention of love and caring while placing their Reiki hands on the Client's body. Reiki will flow then to the places in the body where the recipient needs it most.

When a Client is unable to attend a Reiki treatment in person due to his/her medical condition or because he/she resides too far away, we can provide with 15 min Reiki treatment on a Distance
